Seaside Rock 2009
Wylam Methodist Church was the venue for our Ecumenical Summer Holiday Club 2009.
Over 70 children joined us "by the sea" and had lots and lots of fun in their "rock-pools".
The hall was filled with the sound of happy children, laughing, cheering and singing along to the Seaside Rock Theme Tune and other songs.

"Kev Cool" made an appearance each day to read out the jokes that the children had placed in his "cool box" and to count up the shells (points) in each teams' seaside bucket! Our youth helpers or "beach patrollers" had to undergo a forfeit (like eating a seaweed & ice-cream "sand"wich OR dancing in spaghetti) if their rock pool scored the least points!

Everyone enjoyed listening to the Bible stories, "jogging" their memories (literally!)with the memory verses, watching the day's weather forecast "live from the studio", playing games, doing experiments and making crafts.

A great big thank you to ALL the Life-Guards, Beach Patrollers & Kiosk-servers (some of whom came from other churches to lend a hand), without whom we couldn't have run the club. Thanks especially to Jayne the Jogger, John "Kettley" Green and Ian, aka kev Cool, with his cool box! A huge thank you to Simon who painted the wonderful seaside backdrop and boat.
See you next summer,
Joanne, Jenny & Richard.
