Wylam and District Churches

Rock Solid Youth Group

RS NEWS

We're planning a prayer walk around Wylam.  We've identified 9 places we all wanted to pray for and we've worked out the best route starting and finishing at St. Os.  Our next step is to plan interactive prayers to be said or done at each prayer station.

Then there's trips together too. We've recently been kayaking on the River Tyne, Ten Pin Bowling and to the cinema.

About to enter the water

Rock Solid on the Tyne

We have just started sponsoring Josè, a 16 year old boy in Bolivia, through the Christian Charity Compassion. We are looking forward to sending him letters, photos and postcards and receiving news from him too. We have some fund-raising ideas in the pipeline to help Josè and his family.

In the summer we get involved painting faces or saving penalties at the Jump 4 Joy event and we also help out at the Children's Summer Holiday Club!

Rock Solid now have their own YOuTh WoRsHiP BaNd which meet to rehearse on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month at 5pm in the upper room of Wylam Methodist Church! Speak to Joanne, Rock Solid leader, for more info

New people are always welcome to join us at Rock Solid. Each session is only 50p (and small contributions to Josè's jar are always appreciated too).

ROCK SOLID aims to explore the Christian faith in a way that is relevant to young people through friendship, fun and activities.
